Hi this is my first post so forgive me if it's in the wrong place, I have removed an old lifestyle thermostat containing red , blue, yellow (marked load) & earth wire!
    The new digital thermostat has N, L, & N1, L1 (n1 & l1 are marked load),
Because the Old stat only has three wires how could I wire the new digital stat? At the moment I have wired- red to live, blue to neutral and yellow to L1, it seems to work fine but need to check if it's correct and safe.
The photo is the old stat and the diagram is for the new stat! Thanks.

That's correct, but you should also make the earth wire safe so it can't touch one of the terminals, e.g connect it to a small terminal block hidden in the wall.

Fantastic thanks for the reply! I'll put a terminal block on the earth in the morning! So I don't need to worry about the N1 (load)?

Correct. If you look at the diagram for the stat you will see that N1 is connected to N, so it doesn't matter which terminal is used.
