I need to fit 'Thumb Turn' locks to HMO Fire Doors (FD30), they need to be to BS 8621, I see this product: Smith & Locke 5-Pin Thumbturn Euro Cylinder Lock 35-35 (70mm) Nickel (6409G) But its not to the correct BS8621, only EN1303 is quoted. The locks are to be used on bedsitting room FD30 doors. It appears they are for 30 minute Firedoors, and would definately do the job, although I am required by council Fire Regulations to fit locks to BS 8621 (2007) +A2 2012. Any one know if these would be suitable.
I can't see any euro cylinder which are to those regs. Locks are available though. You could opt for a UMC (under master key) so that one key will open all the rooms.
en1303 is relevant to the cylinder part of the lock ie the bit where the key goes in and only that. such cylinders are used in bs8621 locks. also many other types of locks. you will be fitting a bs8621 lock and that will come with the cylinder.
