I know idealy you should remove all existing tiles, but...... I'm not!!

Just doing a downstairs cloakroom about 6ft by 2 and a half. Existing tiles are ceramic on concrete and are well fixed down.

I have a bag of Bal raidset flexible adhesvive spare and intend using this.

Do I need to score the existing floor tiles? If so with what? Or need some additive?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. score them with a grinder

  3. I personally wouldnt tile over tiles, it is a bit of a bodge.
But if you must, check all existing tiles are sound, bear in mind the added weight, how will it finish against items like arcihtraves, ceilings etc.

Apart from what Leicester builder has said, scoring them, a less intensive solution is clean them, then prime with a product like, Mapei or Dyckerhoff Sopro Liquids.

Use the Sopro range of adhesives, you can even tile onto glass.
