    Hi guys,

Got about 20sqm to tile - I have removed the old lino, however the majority of the adhesive has stayed on the deck.

Its a concrete floor, and the adhesive is flat (Still sticky!) but not in lumps...

Is it good to tile straight over this? Should it be sealed? or should I lay down some self leveller?

    All help would be appreciated.

  2. I would use a tile adhesive primer first before tiling

I had a similar problem having removed some glued PVC tiles prior to laying ceramics. I found that a hot air blower softened the glue sufficiently for it to be scraped off cleanly from the concrete floor. However it took me roughly 20 mins to clear 1 square meter!

My tiler insists on taking it off. Usually with an angle grinder at a shallow angle. Does not take too long but it is messy. But he really is a fussy perfectionist who thinks the tiles should never ever never never come up again.
