i WOULDN'T twist the two cabals together but i would give them a twist individually to tighten up the strands before you terminate them, keeps it neet.

Crikey, I have given my points of view on this a long time ago and I've no wish to start it all off again, but for a fitting side(forget inspection/having to remove), I still think a couple of conductors slightly twisted before securing down with grub-screw makes a very very good connection, and very difficult to pull out, and very unlikely to have one of them come out on it's own. On the removing side, I think that once secured, the single conductor removed, it will have to be re cut to fit because of the now squashed part of the conductor, so no different with two conductors twisted together. ie no more likely to break, and just as likely to need recutting. Also, a slight twist will make it only marginally more difficult to separate(remember, with the jist of this being 'a slight twist'). Once screw is removed and conductors pulled out, the two conductors will quite readily come apart. The slight twist is MUCH less stress than a conductor that is 'doubled-back'. Just to add again, I am not arguing, merely putting argument(as in reasoned debate). (and if the FOOL replies to this, whatever his jibe, I will ignore it) Mr. HandyAndy - really
Crikey, I have given my points of view on this a long time ago 24hrs ago actually :^O will ignore it) that nice to know
Ah the perpetrator. Any one show me where I gave my points of view on twisting or not twisting in the last 24 hours ? I can't find it. Mr. HandyAndy - really
Consider this: Is it better to tighten straight or twisted in a hot or cold environment (initially)....? Which would give long term connection reliability..? (I ask because sometimes I visit an old installation, and the srews are so ferking tight!)
Last time now proving you incorrect as its getting boring. Any one show me where I gave my points of view on twisting or not twisting in the last 24 hours ? I can't find it. However, I cannot tell you lot. notice the topic title ok and the first line of your post. now your post earlier tonight Crikey, I have given my points of view on this a long time ago and I've no wish to start it all off again :^O
