Hi Can anyone please tell me how to access this toilet cistern. Its sealed on the top and sides (apart from the flush hole). I'm assuming that the only access is from the bottom? Also what fill and flush valves do these cisterns use? Thanks for reading.
Sorry - couldn't help it . There will hopefully be pros answering you soon with a proper solution. Me? I haven't a scooby...
solved. unscrewed the push button and then the ceramic cover lifted off to reveal a plastic cistern inside.
What?! The top comes off?!!! Awe, maaaaan - it looked like a whole-casting in the photos. No wonder I was confused...
Oh, wait - you mean the whole cistern lifts off? Ah - what's inside, a separate plastic cistern? D'oh!
No the top of the ceramic case doesn't come off like a normal cistern. The whole ceramic cistern cover lifts up then there is a plastic cistern inside. Strange design!
The plastic cistern is screwed down to the pan, then the ceramic cover goes on top of that and is secured by screwing the push button down onto the flush valve which is obviously connected to the plastic cistern. Hope that makes sense.
I've just learn't something too. How the hell did tom know this? Wait till I come across one of these things now! Tappy
