Hi We have an Indirect Economy seven hot water tank on the upstairs Landing .
We are looking to refit our downstairs cloakroom with an heated towel rail fed from our HW circuit. My question is at the moment our upstairs bathroom towel rail which has been tapped into our indirect hot water cicuit before the Electric valves. We rarely use the gas to heat the hot water, the economy seven gives us enough hot water all day.
Now the thing is our Towel rail in the bathroom is always hot by water convection, with enough heat to dry the towels and almost keep the bathroom warm on its own there is radiator on the Heating circuit in the room but at the moment we have not yet needed to turn the Central heating on and the bathroom is still warm enough.
The eletrical heated water is heating the water in indirect coil, causing the water to flow around the Towel rail, the top of the towel rail is higher than the hot water tank by 700 mm.
So the question is- If I tee the downstairs towel rail in to the same circuit will this get hot in the same manner or not ? - Thanks
