    Hi all,

About to embark on painting my ceiling which has white vinyl paint on it. Probably been there a while. When i was recently steaming off all the paper come of the vinyl came away.

I have a few options on moving forward and would love your opinions on them.

    1. Steam and peel away.
    2. I was told hot hairdryer could also work to peel away.
    3. Rub down and paint over with contractors matt. Only issue is reading up on this some people have had complications .

I would say we have a small staircase ceiling to peel and a slanted wall. Probably no more than 6m2.

It is very much like the photo attached.

Don't use steamer in the future. Soak and strip. Steamer is always the last result because of the damage they do. No quicker or easier sometimes. You need to wash off all the paste before painting. Sand and fill imperfections and get a decent premium emulsion on. Avoid contact matt.

    Thanks for that :)
Will be washing off all the leftover gunk with sugar soap before painting.

Any suggestion on removing the vinyl paint or painting over?
