Disconnect the egr value and see how it goes. That sorted my vw with a similar engine. I suspect it may be a dodgy oxogen sensor. Pre cat.
One hundred and eighty! Top marks EGR replaced for free!..........................now.........wait and see!
Update is .............lasted 4 weeks and it cut out on a major local roundabout, thought my number was up........................got rid of it last September and bought a 12 year old Honda, almost 7 months on and hasn't let me down at all.
Oih, I resemble that remark. I have a Yeti. For me & the lass inside, they have turned out to be a fantastic buy. Had one 3 year ago, now got one of the last ones. New model is a Karoq.
My first guess would be that it sounds like a fuelling issue. Had a similar problem on an old CB500 motorbike- always happens when you slow down for tight turns/at lights (exact places you do not want to break down). Replace the fuel filter and check the lines are not blocked.
Hi Master, must agree the Yeti reviews have always been really good, just can’t understand why they only lasted about 7 years, was considering one about a year ago except I found the boot a bit small for my requirements and the fact they were being discontinued, I ended up getting the Kodiaq the Karoq was not out at the time I know that discontinued models are usually reduced, but it’s not all good news as the resale price when you sell reflect that it’s a model not made anymore, having said that if you keep hold of your Yeti for a good few years that becomes less important, I’m sure though you have bought an excellent motor.
I did, main VW franchise and another VW specialist plus another independent.................glad it's gone
