wall tiles on floor

What generally speaking is the main difference between wall and floor tiles? I will be tiling my bathroom and would like to use the wall tiles on the floor as well. When sold they were called wall tiles. The tiles have a polished finish. The thickness is the same as other floor tiles in the shop. If its just down to the fact that they may become slippy then i,m happy to live with that.
