    Hi All,
Thought I would ask your advise on the best way to secure a roof wallplate.
In the past I have used the 1m angled straps that run down the wall but on this extension we are doing the lintel is nearly as long as the wallplate.
The extension is a single story with a piched roof (trusses) built onto the gable end of a semi detatched. The lintel is inserted into the gable and the other end onto a 400mm pillar.
Under the lintel is a door and a window the lintel is 2500mm long.
There is only one course of thermalite blocks above the lintel, so very little to strap the wallplate to.
Any Idea's please let me know
    Many Thanks

Just cut the straps down to fit, or screw through the plate into the blocks

Thanks for the reply, I have measured the blocks and the straps would be cut to (110mm block and 75mm wallplate) 185mm long.
Do you think this is long enough?
I also thought about drilling through the lintel and blocks and putting threaded rod through to hold the wallplate.
