    Hi guys,

Hoping one of you can give me some advice.....

Can I use a self cutting washing machine waste if no trap is installed. The one I am looking to use is like this:

    http://www.screwfix.com/p/washing-machine-drain-out-kit/75883

It will be fitted to a 40mm waste pipe that runs directly into the soil stack. There is waste from a cloakroom basin upstream and a separate connection from the kitchen sink downstream.

I will ensure the washing machine waste pipe is clipped at a suitable height and the fitting has a built in non-return valve so I cant see any issues but just wanted to check.

    Cheers
    Steve

Washing machines need provision for the outlet to vent at atmosphere.

What is the 40mm waste pipe serving?

Can you not connect another strap on boss to the soil stack anc ocnnect a trap and stand pipe to serve the washing machine? - this would be the best option.
