Has anybody got any idea how much 25 square meters of 10mm (ceramic)floor tiles would weigh?
    Ta Pete.

    not sure but i sell a porcelain tile 10mm @ 20kG/m2
    so that would be 500KG

  3. That sounds about right.

    will hold?

Aquapanel holds 50kg/sqm, if you use WP1 tanking this drops to 32kg/sqm. That's good for stone just under a half inch and will cover pretty much anything man made.

How's the tile side coming along?

    Do you have much interest?

I've got some 600 x 300 x 12 Porcelain Floor tiles and the customer wants them on the Shower walls, I'll weigh them up tomorrow.

I've got 20sq/m of 500 x 250 porcelain sitting in the entarnce hall of the same house that the customer has now decided that she doesn't like!!

She doesn't mind paying the restocking charge, that's nice I though, it's good when the tiles sprout wings and fly back to the supplier !!!!

Cheers for the reply Mudster :)

slow start, 3 smallish sales (all diy)
but i'll stick with it and put a few quid more into advertising them.
I'm also putting up some decent display stands in a few weeks so that might help.
    cheers for asking.

  11. The displays will help substantially.

Those are going to be pig to drill, even with the Richon diamond bits.

I'd say your getting pretty close on weight, and remember the 32kg also needs to include the adhesive.

yep i was gonna get some of those you flip side to side but ive got some grundorf wood floor stands, 1.8m high 900 wide x 6, i'm gonna put tiled back boards on them.
they are all lit and very smart.
So i will have the small stands the wholesalers supplied plus a nice 5.5m run on one wall.

  14. Expensive business fitting out the showrooms, I'm doing one at the moment and it's sucking up money like a sponge.

    i'm just doing a bit.
My supplier pays half for stock (which is common)
but he has also paid half for some new carpet stands i'm buying (unheard of!!)

My tile shop has some fantastic electric displays, you press a button and about ten walls of natural stone slide out in front of you!! it doesn't look like a cheap bit of kit though.

I've done this Porcelain before and it won't drill without water, if I did it dry it would take three Richon bits per hole, with water it'll be one bit per hole.

i bet it aint cheap, a couple of lights on a nice stand will do me
    (part p honest guv)
    :)

  19. That's a good deal actually.

In reality I'm one step back in the chain, I'm the supplier so the buck stops with me.

We don't get a whole lot of credit on stone, it pretty much has to be all paid for before it comes in, although my main supplier is becoming much more ameanable now I'm ordering larger quantities.

The gaffer of one of the firms i deal with looks after me.
he gives all display stock less 50% and the same for personal use.
The carpet stands are the best, as long as i fill them with his product (which i sell anyway) he will pay half.
i have 10 stands on order from t&e (costing me £600)
