I just got hotpoint cooker hood and the power lead is similar to 'kettle' type. It has this on the bit that sticks into a socket on hood ---- 'Pc-688 10A 250v 12 with a weird symbol next to it ' And it has 3 wires. Blue Brown Yellow/green Where can I order this wire? I need to buy just longer lead Would appreciate any help. Thanks
Google IEC lead. However, moving the supply point closer is the best solution. A 688 is a standard IEC, but right angled. Link explaining types. http://www.molvenoservice.it/eng/power-cord/iec/
Hoods with iec connectors - nope dont believe it tbqh..what are you meant to do? I suppose you have to feed the iec plug cable into a Ashley maintenance free, and then stick the t+e from fcu into that also, and this is all within the confines of the hood, so when you wash the grills you look up into the hood void with motor and see that mess - flipping heck, yeh right..
I haven't seen a kettle using an iec lead for yonks and yonks - you lift the kettle orfffffff the circular base with power stub in middle
Come on JP. It is no different from a pre flexed appliance - no wait, actually, its far more convenient.
Maybe I will see one one day Lec - bit hard to visualise a clunky old iec plug and socket gathering greasy dust within hood void - but if you say there good, they must be good.
Sorry for delay. Yes. It does come with the lead I've mentioned. I just would like to know is there different types of this cable that I should NOT use! I don't want any fires or something???
