    Hi,
We moved to a new flat recently and saw sometihng looks like a TV point to me. A black cable from outside wall and then connect to a little box, we took away the little box and used a connector then plugged into the TV but notihng happened.
I think it might be for cable tv, like sky/virgin? Can anyone tell what is it? Can I do anything with that to watch just normal TV like BBC1,2,ITV, Ch4, CH5...
    Thanks.

It looks like some sort of signal booster, they are common in areas where tv aerial signal isnt great.

Apparently isolators are used for cable TV so I do not think you will be able to do anything without a box and a subscription.
Just house holder and I know it is not Sky satellite or Freeview via aerial so must be Cable.

    Thanks guys.
If this one is no use for free TV, does that mean I have to bring another cable from the roof to watch normal TV then?

Or use the internet for TV, then you can ditch the loony left TV tax.

Whatever its was for its appears to be fitted the wrong way around if the cable is the input.

You can watch live tv via internet if you pay for a licence but everything live is on catchup within the hour.

To get Freeview you need a normal TV aerial on the roof.
Most modern TV's have a Freeview tuner built in them.
If you want to record and playback you need a hard drive Freeview Box

I have an indoor aerial but signal no good. I already paid the TV licence.
Does that mean I have to buy an outdoor areial install on the roof and bring the cabel indoor?
When you say loft, how please?

Id do some checks on your area reception before you do anything with regards to TV.
The cable in the picture might be of use if its virgin and you get the internet off them.
Loft Aerial's work fine in good signal areas but can need a signal booster in others.
I'd be using a wide beam aerial what ever way you go.

Our TV aerials are hung off string in the loft and works fine but we are on the top of a hill.

We have roof aerial for main TV's, and as chippie, one hung in the loft for kids bedroom TV's.

Where does the black cable outside go to ?

    Mr. HandyAndy - Really
