    Hi,

Ive just had a woodburner installed and her indoors wants the inside bit of the old fireplace painted to match the walls. Cant find any paint thats heat resistant and the right colour, so she says just use emulsion. So, is it ok to put emulsion onto render beside a fire? Or does someone know o a manufacture of colour specific heat resistant paint...

    Cheers

    Billy

Cellulose paint is your best bet, but always make sure her indoors always lights the stove.

Billy, provided you have the required gap between the stove and the surrounding alcove walls, there's a good chance that emulsion will do ok.

Light colours might discolour over time...

Emulsion paint will be fine for the purpose you are asking about, please ignore the so called advice given by the poster "figaro" as this could be dangerous due to the high solvent content in cellulose paint.
