can anyone recommend a good trade router. My last 3 worktop joints where poor on the right hand side joints so I changed the Jig which solved the problem. However it got me thinking would a better router also improve the quality of work. I'm looking at the Festool 1400 but it's pricey and doesn't actually say in the write up that it's for work tops unlike the 2200 model.

Has anyone used the above Festool models or can recommend something at the same level.

    Thanks

I've got the 1400 just got one at Xmas on a great deal on Amazon. It's powerful enough to do workshops.

I've had the smaller 1010 for years and it's been good. All their routers are very well made and well designed too.

I have a few others including the big dewalt 626 that I've always used for tops. It's starting to age now though so when I saw the 1400 cheap I dived in.
