Wiring a ceiling light

    Possibly a lost neutral - the pd measured on said is induced.

    More than likely there are connectors shoved above the ceiling and one of the cores of flex has come out when the old fitting was taken down.

    did you solve the problem, if so what was the solution as I have exactly the same issue, red connected to brown, blue to black, earth connected all wires stripped and connected via bare wire, cables showing as live when switched on and not when switched off. Previous light worked fine, this one is connected exactly the same.

    Get a spark in, very very simple for us to sort test and rectify because its OUR job!

    All the easy info required for a fix has been stated and it seems this is beyond you DIY'ers
