   I'm thinking of buying a wixey digital angle gauge to setup a mitre saw but is it best to buy the WR300 or
   the WR300 Type 2. The WR300 is a mechanical pendulum type gauge where the
   WR300 Type 2 is a fully electronic sensor (no moving parts)

   Type 2 uses a accelerometer far superior to mechanical pendulum in my opinion.
   Battery last only around 6 months in WR300. whereas the Type 2 is at least 12 months.
   
   If I had the choice, then Type 2 every time.
   
   You will find an Accelerometer is also used in your mobile phone to calibrate it.
