I have an old wooden garage needing some tlc, half of the floorboards need replaced as they damp and rotten..some joists need replaced also, I intend to make this into a man cave for myself. Roof is in good condition, what recommendations do people suggest for the floor?

Also what is best to insulate walls etc

    any tips welcome

    I probabley flatten it.:D

But, lets have a few photo's, so we can see what problems we are dealing with.

Solid insulation would be best for the walls.

Bit strange to have a garage with a wooden floor? Photos would be helpful, what purpose is this garage going to be used for?

Probably a large wooden shack wide enough to be a garage.

  8. It was very common some years ago to have wooden garages with wooden floors.
They were sat on railway sleepers and could quite comfortably take the weight of a car.
