Almost any early stuff by Tim Hardin. Inimitable - although many have tried. In fact, some have done a darned nifty job... The original, and best. by ELP for pity's sakes. and a bludy good attempt by Nazareth - jeepers. No story needed - chust heard Hardin many many moons ago, and it stays with you forever.
ELP has the best guitarist but you don't hear enough of him!!! Nazareth good but his voice a bit desperate guitarist great but overpowering and not subtle enough. Tims version the cleanest but too rushed and not wrist slitting enough. Overall a lovely song. 8/10
