hi all , hope alls good ! anyone had any luck with coolant system sealer ? good or bad ? regards richard.
Yes and no, depends on how bad the leak is, there are many types of rad weld out there. So manufacturers don't recommend the use of because they can block the heater matrix.
So, should have said some. If you can't see the leak, it could be a head gasket failure, this can sometimes be checked by just smelling the water in the header tank, or look for bubbling in the header tank with the engine running, don't mistake water flow for bubbling, you will see air bubbles, also look at the oil filler cap, has it got white scrum around it a sign of water in the oil. If you suspect a head gasket or even just a leak, use K Seal, probably the best out there, just make sure your manufacture doesn't say don't use any type of rad weld.
many thanks phil , will have a look for bubbles tomorrow , theres no white stuff on filler cap , it seems intermitant sometimes it loses water sometimes it dont ! seems really strange its a volvo s60 2.0t 2002 done 99000 regards richard.
Sounds like a high pressure leak then. Look for signs of water stain at pipe connections. Mr. HandyAndy - Really
