I suggested he use a DIFFERENT countersink than the one he was using. Read it again numbskull.

If they are x use y etc

Do they really make people as thick as you? I can hardly believe it!

My point is you have no idea what you are talking about and your posts show this.
Can you post one point on this topic where you gave the correct technical advice.

Yes. All of them. For God's sake man, grow up.

I could try to explain it in even simpler form so that even the dumbest person like you can understand, but sorry, I don't speak NEANDERTHAL.

Point one out to me, give me a post on this topic that no-one can say is wrong, one post that say's a double countersink screw or a bugle headed screw would fit better than a single countersunk screw of the correct gauge in a machined countersink. Just one bit of information that explains how a screwhead that isn't at 82 degs will fit in a hole that is drilled at 82 degs better than one that is 82 degs.
    Drawings would be good.

For simplicity lets assume an #8 imperial or 4mm Metric.

Both of you quite clearly have a screw loose somewhere. I'm still undecided on who is the most unhinged.

I was quite prepared to let this go through the boredom of arguing with an imbecile but then I actually had to do what he had suggested and it didn't work.
Handy is still prepared to argue that the Earth is flat though.
I'm probably going to let it go but HA is bound to prove his ignorance again.

I do write differently on this forum as it's easier to read paragraphs rarher than sentences, but I do use comma's.

    Drawings for babies?
You had pictures(post 76) Can you not SEE that a bugle has less bulk where the countersink is? Therefore it will fit your hole.
Can you not SEE that one or other of the screws may not fit the hole?

Can you not UNDERSTAND that I asked which screws he was using, and that maybe he had the wrong countersink?

Can you not agree that you yourself used a 'wrong' countersunk screw and it sat proud?

Can you not agree that when you use the correct countersink, it fits?

And can you not see that this "Just one bit of information that explains how a screwhead that isn't at 82 degs will fit in a hole that is drilled at 82 degs better than one that is 82 degs." contradicts everything you said, because you have stated that ALL screws are the same angle countersink.

But in case you wonder, a screw at 80 degrees will fit, won't it? Or maybe that should be 85 degrees!

Ug. Ug ug ugug ugug ug ug ug obl ugg.

How big is the head on a #8 bugle screw?
#8 you recommended using the same countersink with a different tip,
#16 you recommended using the wrong screws.
    Have you everv studied trigonometry?
All countersinks are 82 degs, you know those counterinks you buy to countersink your holes, those ones you didn't realise were all at an agreed angle, yes those, that's why.
    There isn't a wrong countersink.
