I'll have a look at that in the weekend.

Also noticed there is a control knob on the front of unit, only realised when posting the picture.

Is it any good? I didn't even know Makita did pressure washers.

For heaven's sake. The answer was given. Leak = pressure drop = starting = pressure = stopping ad infinitum.

Leak is after the pump, so = control head.

Very, good excellent power and long reach pole. Like the Nilfisk ones I can use it to strip flaky paint off timber

Opened it up today. There is a leak inside the unit.

I cleansed out the water inlet filter as well.

Put it all back together, it still didn't work so skipped it along side all the other Karchers.

Having said the above, I jet washed the patios today, but my petrol jet wash was playing up, wouldn't run for more than 10/15 seconds.

Sussed it out though, it was the low oil switch playing up, so disconnected it and away we went 4 hours solid jet washing. :D:D:D

I bodged mine. Couldn't find a control head for less than £26, so wasn't having that. It had a leak in the control switch pot(the one that is pressurised and activates the stop switch when trigger is released).
I completely blocked the pot from receiving water. I attached a short length of hose and a stop-valve to the main hose inlet. I attached a handle to the valve. I attached a round handle to the main on/off switch, and connected that via a stiff wire to the valve handle. I fixed the trigger on the lance to permanently on. Now I attach the garden hose to the valve, and turn it on and off with the valve handle which in turn turns the on/off switch. Bit clumsy, but works perfectly(although not automatically).

I am an engineer (by degree). Always learnt stuff by taking something apart and learning how it goes back together again.

It's quite fun taking things apart. Don't know If I can get it back together again

Going to clean up the 3 heads as think there are seals here.

The video I posted earlier from e-spares say sometimes the plastic casing cracks if the pressure washer is left out during winter which could have been the cause.

When finishing with the pressure washer is it best to turn off the garden tap then press the trigger to get rid of all the water or is there another process that needs doing?
