Why dont you try reading what I have written on this.

We will leave the EU. Thats all the ref said.

But the terms need to be decided.

And sadly for the Brexiteers they cant just add anything they want in to the democratic mandate after the ballot papers were issued.

That pretty much is what they have been pushing for.

Just so I've got this clear.

You want remainers to keep quiet until mid 2019. Then we can voice our opinions.

Does that not sound like the complete opposite of democracy?

No but a binary choice in a referendum is pure democracy, in or out, yes or no, everybody who voted knew the terms and you can't plead that your democratic rights are being restricted when the people who voted leave have not even seen theres implemented

GB, I was goaded into replying. Chip started with the insults/ insulting posts. ( copying someone else by the look of it) Yes, I should have rose above it, but didn’t. You’re quite correct Brexit has changed some people. I’m also sure most of the insults are started by those in the remain camp, as opposed to the Brexiteers.

    Are you being deliberately obtuse?

I accept we will leave. Said that repeatedly.

Doesnt mean we as a nation should simply and meekly accept what a narrow cabal of Tory Brexiteers decide is best without any form of discussion.

Accept what is going on and keep quiet 'for the good of democracy'

    That very statement contradicts itself!

I believe the nation (govt) are currently discussing it with the EU commission and the 27 member states, I strongly suspect, you won't be consulted, but hey, don't be offended by that, they probably won't consult me either.

No it was clear even from the prime minster at the time to leave the EU meant leaving the customs union and the single market, the remainers are the ones trying to muddy the waters on this issue to remain in the CU and SM would be remaining in the EU

    Straw man argument mate.

If you want to actually follow pure democracy, the ref was to leave the EU. And that only.

    Customs Union? No mention.

    Free movement? No mention.

Are you sure you want the exact terms of the ref followed?

Particularly as it was actually only an advisory and a non-binding ref.

I agree that the nation spoke and we will leave the EU. Everything else is up for grabs.

You cannot just impose what you believe the ref meant to you.

Thats what the Tory Brexiteers are trying to do.

Not really, I've accepted, whether or not I'm in agreement, any Government that has been democratically elected, it's life.

GB, I have noticed your failure to castigate chip for slinging insults about. Do I take this as some sort of tacit endorsement of his actions ?

You seem to always be looking for someone to blame dont you.

EU, low wage migrants, Remainers etc etc.

Perhaps the answer actually lies within.

Ha ok all this fuss, let just ignore 17million people in a advisory referendum, if you think any government would have the bottle to do that you don't understand politics too well

The referendum gave a binary choice. Leaving the EU is not a binary choice, but a process.

It's not a bloody light switch.

Absolutely. Many seem to only like democracy when it aligns with their own views.

So because of 17 million people voting 'Leave', 16 million people who voted 'Remain' don't get a say?
