Hi i have been given quotes for 7.2m long x 2.4m high stud work

So this will be 2x.7.2m because left and right walls
    3.6mx 2.4m high back wall

    This is using 4x2 timber
Will have a stud ceiling flat as its inside a building

Also 3.6m front studded but has cladding

Also floating flat floor so just plywood or chipboard flooring
    Total price £2500

    £1500 material
    £1000 labour

Is this a good price as most of the other quotes are £3500 and 1 at £7500

    Still seems a lot

What do you reckon it’s worth, labour and materials?

I charge £250.00 per visit, if it doesn’t take all subsequent visits are at £150.00.

Ooer, hang on a minute I just read the thread headline, and am possibly wrong about what the op is on about.

    I would say £2000 max

Material £1000 or less non trade

Labour would be £125 a day

5 days work as he has said will take £625

So max £2000 with a good profit

Your labour rate is way off 200+vat is a decent chippy wage, no door openings? Your price of £2500 would be reasonable assuming he has included the boarding

price Is dependent on where you are in the country, however most agency chippies local to me get 180 a day with direct labour getting around 230
So based on that you’d be looking at around 2500-2800 depending on spec, eg stud centres, ply or plaster board or even both if shelvings being put up?

It really gets on my t it's when someone asks how much something is worth, whilst simultaneously stating how much they got quoted, and how they reckon it's not correct (the original post) Tossers.

Agree. But the op doesn' want to pay. Convert 125 per day to an annual salary , say he works 250 days per year, knock off 20% for costs, tools insurance etc. That mean about £25k per annum for a skilled trade. Not much is it

So the answer if the op thinks materials and labour is overpriced is to not pay: source the materials youself and do it yourself. 5 days works is 2.5 weekends

That’s the problem matey thinks he can go down b and q and buy 30 lengths of CLS, 10 sheets of board and 10 sheets of chipboard probebly for near enough the same price as at Jewsons but then realise he can’t get it any of it in his Ford Focus so wants the chippy to go pick it all up spend 2hours wheeling it round on a trolly and dealing with the numpties in BQ asking you for ID!!! All for the same price as he can get it for I wasn’t having a dig mate

    £125 a day?

Only if the OP was my mate and was providing unlimited beer and curry in the evening and accomodation.

For £125 working for someone I didnt know you would get about half a days work.
