Hi Guys I have a paving stone area out the back which I tidied up new fence and its all looking fine I have tried to clean the area this morning. Its a mix of old and new slabs I have a good BIG Karcher so thats working fine. The new slabs are cleaning well. But older ones are not as well as I would like Is there any cleaner to drop down on them to help. Or is it just they are old and thats it Johnny M
Which head have you fitted to teh Karcher? I have a 50mm diameter head that produces a spinning jet of water and it really does get into the dirt layer.
Hi Well its the long usual probe. But the end bit as it was has i Pointed like spear looking end. The water output is a circle. Its maybe the stones are to old and have just took on this old look. But I thought I would ask. Thought there was some "magic" stuff I was missing Johnny M
You can get patio cleaner attachments like this: Also patio cleaner solution in a big red 5 gallon container from B&Q that you brush on first.
Buy 500g of Chlorine granules dilute enough to what you need, wet the area to be cleaned and using a paint brush paint the chlorine solution over the old slabs and leave for 30 minutes then power hose off. Could try a test area first to test the Chlorine strength.
Pedantic! John, you will have more control with a 2" or thereabouts paintbrush and will be able to work the solution well into the slabs.
I may have a similar problem I have an Indian stone patio only laid about a year ago, and my weekend BBQ has produced one or two grease stains, I have a decent Katcher, but not keen on using it due to the power and would it cause damage to the stone, I have already had one or two flaky bits come loose over the past year
Indian sandstone can vary widely in quailty from superb to utter carp, all depends from which mine/quarry it came from. Marshalls give I think a 1 year warrenty on the indian sandstone they supply.
Interesting thread, this ... some people pay to add the old, characterful look of 'established' paving areas, while others use fancy chemicals and equipment desperately trying to make them looks like they've just been laid. Thank goodness we're all different!
Yep sure are, go to your local Screwfix and get todays offer 3 for the price of 2 KIAB all paving cleaners but be quick offer ends at midnight.
Had a Karcher washer a few years ago, it came with tow heads a 1) vari lance hose and 2) dirt blaster, this is the high pressure one which fits your description.
