How much of a perfectionist are you?

If it’s a pretty average or even ropey job, but you’ve had an adventure, will you be happy?

    If so, go for it.

It’s tiling. You’re not playing with electricity or gas. Nobody will die if you get it wrong (probably).

The worst that can happen is you waste time, money and have a rubbish floor.

And it’ll probably be okayish, not brilliant, but how bad can it be?

Oh, but if it really is bad, could you upload photos?

    Have you enough tiles?

600x600 is nominally 2' x 2' so each tile is 4 sq feet.

Your rooms 14x10 and 14x13 come to 140 + 182 = 322 sq ft which even without cuts would require 81 tiles, or allowing for cuts 90 or more.

I'm also laying some (only three) porcelain 600 sq (20mm thick) tiles on a doorstep, I was just going to use cement or will they crack ?

Can they be "dry cut" using an angle grinder or do I need to use my stil saw which has a water feed for the cutting disc ?

    Hi
The shop I bought them from did all the working out for me with some left over for spares!

Yep also make it 81 tiles, but that’s without knowing where the cuts are and room layout

Usually 10% is added to the calculation to allow for cuts, wastage and f ups

It’s ok if your short on tiles as long as additional are readily available and they’re sold in a reasonable quantity. This will affect your budget clearly if more required, just bear this in mind. Can’t see how 70 tiles will do unless you have zero wastage and uv over estimated ur sizes :)
