Repairing brickwork after paint stripping

The previous owners of my house painted the brick for some reason, and I would like to remove it.

I’ve been doing test patches with products such as Peelaway 7 and it works fine, but it’s clearly taking away the surface of the brick along with the paint. While this is fine visually, I don’t want to make a nightmare in years to come with water damage etc.

If I go ahead with stripping the rest, will I be OK simply treating with a sealer product like Stormdry? Or is it more involved than that?

    Thanks.

As long as the walls are dry I can see no problem using Stormdry.

Will de-glazed/damaged bricks treated with Stormdry perform as well as they would have when new?

I can't see why not as the Stormdry is a micro porous breathable seal, for 100% clarification contact the manufacturers technical department for the advice you seek.
