Believe it or not - Ministry Of Transport. Apparently because they are the government body who decides it
I also couldn’t think what words the letters MOT stood for in relation to the product. Had to search the internet because I needed to know
Don't expect a plumber to know that. And 1 tonne of MOT Type One is required to cover 10.1 square metres at a depth of 50mm, or 1.98 cubic metres.
Isn’t it also as MOT used to be mainly road scalpings from resurfacing road works Think scalpings are still used as well as other materials for MOT layer
It's all cover in section 0800 in link below, good bedtime reading. http://www.standardsforhighways.co.uk/ha/standards/mchw/vol1/index.htm
Thanks Kiab but I’m actually fantastic at getting to sleep and have no need for any outside stimuli. On the odd occasion I do (very rarely) then a slug of something tasty and alcoholic hits the spot As for bedtime reading, it’s either the SF catelogue or another fine publication, know as chefs p orn, the mighty Nisbets Catelogue Been through the Kama Sutra 3 times and after putting my back out, never again I vowed
KIAB think there may be something wrong with your conversion. I’ve always found 1 tonne of type 1 is equivalent to just over half a cubic metre compacted so for an area 10m by 1m at 50mm deep, equals 10x1x.05 you need about 1 tonne as that’s half a cubic metre agreed but don’t get ‘1.98cu ms’ ?? Unless I’m misreading something?
He has forgotten to invert it! 1/1.98 = 0.50505050505 And his original sum of 10.1 sq m x 50mm deep is 0.505 cu m
