When I was a kid tea was considerably far better tasting than the tea bag muck forced upon us in todays market, tea leaves left to brew in a warmed tea pot were far superior making a real nice cuppa. I have tried all kinds of tea bag and leaf from English Breakfast to Assam with one hell of a lot of others in between, not talking PG Tips or Yorkshire Tea but what make your taste buds tingle chaps?
I go for the pukka range or organic green tea with turmeric, three ginger, mint matcha green, camomile etc. Drink it from a thick old pint glass, maybe add a bit of honey
Nothing to worry about, its just a word they put in front of things so as to charge you more, a bit like ECO, green or sustainable
China tea pot. loose strong tea. Warm pot. fresh water...boiled. Into pot, tea cosy, 4 mins. Gold rimmed fine bone china cups and saucers. Full fat milk.. little honey. Admire the genteel Lady of the house and imbibe gently. It's a class thing. No apologies. Any idiot can be uncomfortable. Rs
Glengettie is a traditional blend that as far as I am aware hasn't changed, much stronger taste than Yorkshire http://www.glengettietea.co.uk/
Loose leaf has to be Assam. Tiny splash of milk. Bagged is earl grey, nothing too floral, even smaller drop of milk. My customers hate me!
Blimey. Tea can be hot or cold, with or without milk, with or without sugar. However it comes is fine by me. Only stipulation is that customers don't put it in an heirloom mug as it will get broke.
All of which pale to the mighty "Artisan", stick that in front of something and the price is !!!!! No Limits.
Now, this could sound a bit strange. One of the best pots of tea was and still is as of 2 months ago, to be had at RHS down in Surrey. Comes in a filtered tea pot, large leaf tea, none of your cheap, tea for the massives that most cafes push out. I am at this time trying out lose leaf tea having rediscovered it after yrs of grabbing a quick cup on the go!
The Wiltshire Tea Company, which is not too far from me, stock a wide range of loose leaf teas from around the world. https://www.wiltshiretea.co.uk/collections/loose-leaf And Nothing But Tea do some nice teas. https://nbtea.co.uk/
