It means 220 to 240 volts. 240 is the nominal voltage whereas actual is 230 plus or minus a bit!

I still find your profile pic somewhat distracting!

    Hey Rulland.
So the live to left Live Neutral to 3rd Neutral and ground right?
    Will 6mm are thick enough?

Yep, live to either of the two, neutral to any of the three, cable size depends on load, allowing for any diversity, 6mm is the most common used though.

Cool ,I just checked and the 6mm cabke can handle 38amps 9120w but in the manual it said the cooker are 11300w . So do I need thicker one like 10mm ?

If you don't know the answer to this question, you really do need to be letting an electrician sort this out for you.

Diversity can be applied as it's a cooker. Google it. I agree with Kitfit though and think you should get a sparky in to sort it out.

I got a cable and it should be 10mm one as I asked in shop but on the cable it said BS6004 6242y 2x4+1.5mm it doesn't seem to be 10mm ?

Found it thus is 4mm one lol good sale, going back to shop. I havent mentioned my cooker are 11300w so I will need 10mm one as 6mm can deal only under 10000w please confirm

As said diversity brings you below 10Kw.

Thank you all :) for your time and help. As my unit in full power can go high to 11300w I will wire it with 10mm cable it will not harm but always secure.

Why did you bother to ask for advice if you are just going to ignore it?

What do you mean chippie? By installing 10mm will do something wrong?

No, everybody told you 6mm was fine and what you decided to do was use 10mm, it's up to you but it will be harder and cost more money.
Why ask for advice and then ignore it?

Got that back to front there Roland. 230+/- is the nominal EU carp, 240 ish is the actual in the UK generally, due to the transformer windings.
    :)
