'cmon Allsorts, give us the full story. Is it the legal bit for Bexit, if it is then I agree, we all need to know.
Yes, the opposition - which seems to even include the DUP - are demanding the Gov reveals the full details, otherwise they could be considered to be in contempt of Parliament. In fact - isn't it happening around now? (Must check The Guardian...)
Until a few weeks back - when the Gov became a bit desperate - he was just another £700k pa QC barrister with a sideline as an MP.
Soooooo, Parliament has given the Gov a bludier nose than expected, so that sets up things nicely for the 'deal' vote next week. Parliament is also going to get the power to prevent a Hard one. Parliament can now also seemingly has the power to revoke Art50 without permission from the rest of the EU. And that, gentlemen, is why we have MPs and don't just listen to the 'willie of the peepul' in such matters.
Yes, it does hint at the numbers. It’s difficult to imagine MPs saying “I hold you in contempt, but g’wan I’ll vote with you anyway.” Did you read the opinion (not a judgement yet)? It basically says “of course we can’t stop you changing your mind - that’d be taking away your sovereignty” (I think the word sovereignty was used three times in two pages). We don’t need the EU to take away our personal sovereignty- that’s what parliament is for.
