Hi. I’m replacing a conifer hedge with hit n miss fencing as its in an exposed position. The preference would be for wooden posts but these will rot out to soon so its got to be concrete but aesthetically not as good. Also concrete posts seems to mean panels rather than fencing boards. Is there a way to add the fencing boards and avoid using panels? Thanks
Use morticed concrete post and cut flat rails to suit then fit the hit and miss planks as per normal.
My neighbour struggles to maintain, and hasn’t, the existing hedge, because his side is up a steep bank. I can see the same happening with a hornbeam or beech hedge. Thanks for trying to help
That is helpful. I need to see one to be sure how it would work. Presumably the rails are shaped and then put in the sockets and then wedged tight.
