    Guys

Taken over a property which needs some TLC. Going to give it clean and full paint.

Wanting to know which is most cost effective way to paint the whole house walls. May do the ceilings too.

    Going for standard white.

Dont want to be doing many coats so ideally if can get away with it, then a ONE coat base paint.

What kind of tackle is good and easy to use, especially for ceilings. Not looking for anything to a professional level, just basic DIY but clean.

Could the same paint be used on skirting board and door frames too?

Carpets going to be ripped out and replaced so not to bothered about the mess.

Sounds like a 'LET' property..............white ceilings and woodwork with Magnolia walls, cheap as chips! ;)

Hire a medium airless paint sprayer, & use with 20 ltr tubs of Magnolia/ white emulsion, can quickly spray a room.
Once all rooms are prepared & clean, & with the 50' hose on most sprayers, it's eay to set up sprayer in central location & spray one room after another.

I got a similar one already which i used to paint outside fence.
Used to much paint with that and the capacity is only small so for ever filling it after every 5 min of use.

As it's already lifting off,a wall paper steamer might get it off with little damage, then just skim & repair any areas where needed doing, then give wall a coat of Everbuild 406 stablishing solution, will give a good surface then for painting.

So only that section will need skimming? not the entire wall then?

Any youtube videos how to learn skimming...lol

Most likely, without being there, it's difficult being 100%,but based on past experiences, you might be lucky, is that a outside wall.

I stick with magnolia, you will then most likely get away with just one coat, but again, it depends on the condition of the walls.

Any paints you recommend and the correct roller brush to use with?

Leyland trade super latex. Comes in 15l tubs, so get one white and two magnolia at first.
Use a decent primer/undercoat on woodwork then topcoat with white gloss.

So will use the magnolia on the walls, white on the ceiling. Im gonna try and see if i can get away with doing white on all. On magnolia, will it need extra coats of white to cover?

    Which primer/undercoat for woodwork

If walls are already magnolia, then stick with magnolia. Dulux trade oil based undercoat and gloss for wood work.

Paint your Ceilings first, then walls, then undercoat and gloss woodwork.
