Hi I'm looking for a way to operate my power shower with a key. This is to prevent my son having 1hr showers when we are out. If anyone has any advise or knows where I can get one that'd be great. Cheers
Some consumer units allow a breaker to be switched off and a lock attached to that circuit. Normally to allow work to be undertaken on the circuit without the chance of it being powered up.
In all seriousness you might want to look at getting a coin operated one. Could get him to clean your car in order to earn a longer shower.
I stopped in a £6 a night b&b in Newquay a few years back. Had a 20p a minute coin op outside the door! Got everyone showering fast.
Is it an actual power shower, which is water pumped from a hot water cylinder and cold storage tank and fed from a spur fused at 3 amp? Or is it an electric shower with just a cold feed off the mains ?
A bit drastic but you could get an Electrician to fit a suitably rated rotary isolater next to the consumer unit/fuse board, which can be padlocked off.
So tell us, how old is your son? And, why you feel you can instil in the back of his head not to take so long. (Or even to obey you) Anyway, is he even safe to be left alone? Even I have a problem with this as it seems a bit drastic!
Raise right hand at 45 degrees and bring down in a sweeping action to skim top of sons head (be prepared for court appearance though)
I must say a great big thank you to you all for your help or not as the case may be. What a waste of time!
O come on Stuart, what do you expect when you come on with a statement like that. Now I could understand it he went to the loo with his phone, but watch films in the shower on his mobile??? Most of us on here have had sons go through the teenage years, so this one really took the biscuit. But, we wish you all the best.
