Hello, My kitchen has sort of rubber feeling wallpaper on it - it's very old. We're going to be extending the hosue and will be redoing the kitchen so I don't want to waste much time on properly redecoratin. Therefore, I just want to paint over the wallpaper. Is this possible? And is there anything I can put on there that will do a good job? Someone mentioned putting a pva solution on first, then painting. Thanks
Why is it always someone?........... If the paper is clean go over it with Zinsser Bullseye 123 and then whatever paint you want to use for example eggshell, matt emulsion etc. If the paper is greasy forget cleaning as it will come off the wall once wet.
If it’s probably a washable paper can you not just strip of& the top layer leaving the backing paper on which you can paint
