Morning All, I changed the shower head and hose last night on my Electric Shower. I ran the water, it worked fine. One of us had a shower, fine. I go to have a shower and decide to just make sure all the different settings are working on the shower head as i get to the one with the most pressure, It stops and water starts spurting from inside the shower box. I've opened up the shower box and had a look online and am seeing its something to do with the water pressure safety valve? I've attached a picture and circled where the water is coming from. If i run the water without the hose on, water runs fine, as soon as i attached the hose, the water starts coming out of that part again. Can someone please help? What have i done!! Thank you
Was just going to say same. Could the new hose be restricting the amount of flow through the unit? Need to check old hose or another you have around maybe.
Another thing, did you screw the new hose on correctly? Could it have been cross threaded so not creating a seal?
Probably. This device acts upon excessive back pressure. Its likely that the hose and shower head that you have fitted has caused it to operate. You should only fit hose / shower head that shower manufacturer recommends for the model you have.
How old is the electric shower ? There are other causes of prd blowing ,such as build up of limescale within the shower / heat cannister , is the area that you live in a " hard water" area ?
it is a hard water area. Shower is only 6-7 years old. Ive bought the part now and hoping to change it and it fixes!
Op states that it works fine without the shower hose. Does that make sense? Got to be something simple surely.
The op has circled ,in first pic, where the water comes out ,its the prd ( PRV). Without a hose ,there is no restriction what so ever at the outlet ,and water will flow straight out . Hardly any ( if at all ) ,would come out the prd's outlet.
