My boiler has been over pressurised and is pouring water out the relief valve i believe. Had to turn off the mains to prevent it from flooding the house. The boiler is a Greenstar 30Si MKIII. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance =)
Ive checked its fully closed its still holding 3 bars. when i switch the boiler on it starts gushing out with water
Wouldnt it make a sound like water passing through if its not functioning theres only one stop off valve on mine. Taking it off might cause a whole new nightmare
The black handle may not be fully engaging on the shaft. It's held on with a screw ,remove the screw and pull off the black handle. See if it's cracked. It sits on a square shaft which you can turn with a spanner once the black handle is removed.
My friend your a genius its all sorted thanks again n again i really appreciate i can now turn the heaters on and stay warm all thanks to you. I bought in a boiler man he told me i need a new boiler or change out some parts. When alls it needed was the valve closed i bet hes the one who did it after all he did want 350 labour n parts. Hopefully i can be of some day perhaps on the metal working side boilers are just not my thing salute!!!!
Ha ha !! You need to reduce pressure to around 1 bar now. Be aware that sometimes when relief valve has opened ,they don't close fully. Keep an eye on the relief pipework . If you start to experience pressure dropping ,that probably the reason.
Will keep an eye on it. ive represurised it to 1 bar hopefully all goes well. Do have a wonderful evening Many thanks
