In your situation the receiver is usually fitted at the other end of the stats cable.
More or likely this will be at the boiler.

It can be done at the stat though but need to know how it’s connected at the boiler

What make and model boiler do you have?

You will need to know how it’s wired at the boiler.
It’s probably from the 240v side.

How can I check it mike by opening the boiler or something

Visually checked at the boiler or the wires tested with a multi meter

    It will be quite easy.
If you fit the receiver at the boiler then the hive will need a LNE supply.
Then you just need to use the other 2 wires that will be 1 and 3.
Those 2 wires will be the ones that come from the stat and join to the terminal strips and lead to the boiler.

But my hive is wireless with the batteries in it

    The hive stat is wireless.
    But the receiver needs wired.
It’s fairly simple to fit next to the boiler and will also be possible to fit the receiver at the old stats location with wiring modifications.

Need two receivers then that’s what you mean

No. Your battery powered hive stat communicates to the wired receiver.
The receiver is then connected to the boiler.

So replace the boiler switch with the wired receiver and leave the old stat as it is and my wired receiver will work with the wireless stat

The boiler switch needs to stay in place.
What I would do is fit the receiver next to the boiler and run a bit 5 core between the boiler and receiver.
I would then remove the existing black and grey wires on the current 5 core from behind the switch and inside the boiler.
There’s other ways to do this though.
You should maybe get someone in to do the job. Whilst it’s simple I suppose things could go wrong.
