    Hi All,

Just wondering what the purpose of these grooves are in a pattress box?

Can these be broken off to allow wires to feed through?

You break them out to bring canles in.

You’ll only break them off once, only to find you’ve wrecked the box.

The way to avoid damage is to cut down the side with a junior hacksaw, and then remove the unwanted bit with a pair of long nosed pliers.

Especially if you screw them to a wall with an impact driver, you end up with 5 pieces.
    Unless that's just me.:)

I always hate that noise you get when you ever so carefully tighten up a socket plate and the box makes a cracking noise - the PVC ones used with mini trunking Sparkielev mentions are far better!

But some go yellow with time.
