Hi I need to fit a oak cottage style door into an angled frame under the stairs. How do I cut and shunt this? Or do I need to take them to a joinery shop? I've see you can buy them but they are hugely expensive and we need two maybe three.
This is the style im thinking of. I have attached a photo of what I want to achieve. Currently away from home so can't get a photo atm.
shoudnt be too hard to convert, but one problem is if there is enough of the stile left over after cutting the door to height/angle to make the new angled top rail.
Hit the nail on the head here I think... The angled head is obviously longer than a standard horizontal head and therefore the original head will be too short to use. You may need to buy another door to use as a donor and use the vertical members as heads. As it is likely to be an oak veneer on a chipboard base you may also need to consider covering the inside of the door with 12mm ply and fixing the new made up door onto it to retain strength.
