Had the doors renewed double glazed several years ago.Fitters fitted cat flap in back door..it’s broken replace like for like..it was not screwed on but stuck on with a strong adhesive, they cut the opening too big so screwing it is out of question..What do you use to glue plastic? Cat flap to upvc panel door..is there a special strong adhesive for this CTI or ?
Can use an adhesive or silicone will work well to bond plastic to plastic (upvc) Any silicone really, general building sili or bathroom stuff - will do the job, apply lashings of sili, push cat flap into place and clear away any excess that squished out As above, a few cat flaps Ive fitted, one half screws into the other with the screws merely passing through the upvc panel Obviously, there’s a chance that yours has a different fixing method though good luck
The problem is the guys fitting the new door, cut the hole too big, hence they glued it in place, screw holes are in the way of space gap
Possibly a better solution would be to fill out the excess gap with wood, so you can fit the screws as normal.
No Screws in box, lost.. so hands tied..going to try get slim bolts & nut to sandwich the 2 parts together with the upvc door inbetween
So if the guys fitting the cat flap have made the cut out too large, and they had the cat flap to hand to measure - if new, these come with a paper fitting template ? Ah ha …. Just read post again, this was fitted several years ago and your now replacing like for like flap ,,,,,,, geddit ! Another option would be to replace the UPVC panel and start again, cutting an accurate size hole If a flat upvc panel held in with glazing beads, easy to replace and would cost around £40 for a new panel - depending on size and depth Or just ‘glue’ on new one using silicone
