I’ve just brought a Macerator (Saniflo Sanitop UP) and the cable is too short for the fused spur!!

I can’t lower the fused spur as it will be in the way of my vanity unit, sink and toilet.

What are my options in getting this connected? A Junction box? Another fused spur?

    Thanks.

Fit a longer length of cable to the unit.

With a waterproof joint outside of the tank.

Not so easy as the cable is sealed to the unit -same unit I have.

What is the IP rating on that.

Probably hasn’t got one much more than zero. Is it going underwater then?

Just wondered why an IP-rated junction was required.

Maybe it's in a bathroom Bazza.

    Is it?

Never seen a macerator fitted in a main bathroom myself, only ever standalone WCs.

One cant be fitted as the only wc of a building. ie a flat but I have seen it as so but they are generally fitted in en-suite bathrooms.

If Paul had included more details in the post as he did in another post elsewhere then one would hope he would of received more professional replies.

    He only mentioned.
But, how would the requirement for the junction change even if there were a bath involved? Nobody has questioned the position, or the presence, of the FCU!
