Hi hope someone can help, two of my bedroom plug sockets just stopped working yesterday and I can’t work out why, they are both on the same wall ( the gable end wall) the rest of the bedroom electrics are still working normally I’ve checked all the fuses and I’m now stumped, any advice and help will be greatly appreciated thanks all

Turn power off ,loosen the two socket fronts and see how many cables are present at each ,looking for loose wires or loose screws at wiring terminals.
Has any work recently been done at the property ,not necessarily electric, involving nails / screws going into walls or floorboards ?

Was there anything plugged in to any of the sockets?

Check the fuse box/consumer unit, just because they are in the same room doesn't mean they are nessisarily on the same circuit.

No and there’s no chance of an electrician before Monday

Everything is still on so that didn't help you.

Did you check inside the sockets for anything obvious?( if you do this turn all the power off)

Maybe there's a fused spur somewhere that's been turned off or the fuse has gone?

That Chint breaker shouldn't be there, it doesn't fit properly.

A proper pick and mix board. That may point to a lack of quality in the installation generally, but probably not the cause of the problem.

Woolworths Board - the best place for Pick'n'Mix

I see 4 brands of module in there: CTI, CED, Chint, CPN plus MK blanking covers! Add to that: One of the locking screws is NOT locked, there is a crack in the board above the Chint module and teh Chint module appears to be coming apart. The whole think needs a good tidy up - or a new CU.

Maybe but will that make his sockets work?

Looking at the CCU I suspect a bodge somewhere along the line, poor or loose connections in the back of a socket nearby. Probably the work of the previous house holder.

A right old mix up of cheap and nasty tat, some of which does not even fit.

I don't see a date or signature on the label, it's meaningless, lets face reality, this was put in by a DIY type, expect issues.

Agreed, just pointing out the observation with the cave entrance above the MCB :D
