wet some plasterboard it bends! then cut the tiles into strips that way they go round bends.. ;)
when u are using silicone please use fairy washing up liquid with water, dip ur finger in it and smooth ur silicone with it....IT STOPS IT...
yes slate is pretty much the same as marble except of the thicknesses they can vary quite a lot. rapid set is good. good luck.
my advice would be dont tile on pvc its not very strong and would take no time to sheet it with pboard or ply. dont risk it for a few quid.
dont prime plasterboard and tray in first make sure its solid or u will have problems forever.
