Can anyone please tell me the correct way to render a 100mm turbo block external wall. Its a wall of a garage so not worried about thermal values, just after the correct mix for this time or year. Any help would be appreciated. thanks sam
Scratch coat - 4:1:1 sand:cement:lime Float coat - 5:1:1 sand:cement:lime If you don't want to, don't use lime but use a bit of plasticiser/rendermix instead. Use a stainless steel render stop beads. Oh and don't bridge the DPC!
thanks for the advice i wont be using lime,i was going to render to the floor so would be bridging the dpc,the first two courses are enginiering bricks on crazy paving, would this be ok.
the first two courses are enginiering bricks on crazy paving, would this be ok. That'll be 'engineering' then eh? It's quite common to paint the these two courses a contrasting colour like black for instance.
so if you are not bothered about thermal, why use turbo blocks? and is the thing really built off a crazy paving path? if so rendering is the least of your problems.
