Sandtex smooth.

    Painting outside of my house,would it be ok to use sandtex smooth as undercoat on the soffits,before the gloss? Thanks for any advice.

    It would not be a good idea to use a masonry paint as an undercoat.

    Well I will tell you. Masonry paints are both designed and formulated simply to be applied to masonry!!!!

    If your of the belief that Sandtex smooth will react in the same way on pre-painted woodwork then feel free to apply it.

    However take this in to account before you do, the breakdown of top coatings such as gloss is often the result of bad prep and the application of the wrong u/c. it is those factors that bring about the premature breakdown of your intended paint system.

    It will fail to adehere, crack, and ruin your efforts to repaint your house. Its your choice!
