At a guess I'd say £10 - £15 a square metre for skimming and about the same for bonding / browning or dry lining. Purely a guess though based on what mates have paid for work in the past. Regards Andy
in my experience you tend to get what you pay for, i've had it with the £80 a day boys - most people i know charge between £150/200 a day and i think this is pretty standard.
Sunderland area it,s £120.00 from 8.30am till the pub opens. Seriously though 3120.00 is the norm up here
SHOW ME YOUR PROFIT ACCOUNTS FROM LAST YEAR YOU A.....E. AND DONT BOTHER POSTING IF YOUR NOT GONNA BE HELPFULL
if its a small area or 1 room , it usualy decided by how long it takes.. it all depends what you after. most plasterers will produce smooth finish which to people who dont know may look great..specially in the first 2-3 hours after the plasterer has finished.. not too many will produce a uniform plastering , with litle or nothing to make good prior to painting. the good ones london area look usually for 250-300 a day which may sound a lot but they do many metres. if its big job can be taken by sq m .. roughly 6 per skimm only, 10 for board and skimm 12 for hardwall/bonding and skimm ..
What about in the South West (Somerset)? A family member (Cousin) who I have been told is a good plasterer (but admittedly have not seen his work myself) is quoting me £200 a day plus materials. He reckons he can plaster over Artex on the ceiling and skim 3 walls of a smallish dining room in a day (is this realistic). Doesn't really seem like family rates to me!! Thanks Giggsy
i dont know whats the going rate in your area but the guy seem to produce enough quantity for a day.. lets hope the quality matches it.. most plasterers would do ceiling 1 hit...till 12 then 1 wall or 2 for the rest of the day.. it means he s gonna have to come back tomorrow.. so even if its 100 a day around there you gonna pay 200 , but with this guy its finished in a day
On this subject what is the biggest mix you have seen put on in one go.I was on a site today where the labourer was mixing 6 bags of board finish in one big tub.
dont know how many plasterers was he mixing for. when on site i would easily mix 4 and half bags...due to site work doesnt involve skirtings frames ets.. its mostly straight forward. if i had another plasterer yes 6-7 without problem , preparing everything first
He was mixing for two lads London.A bit of a change from the good old days ,hand mixing with a posser...
