WORKTOPS

    hi i"m after getting some new worktops so wondering how much to do a butt n scribe joint cut sink out and tap hole, ball park figure plus know anygood fitters worktops cost me nearly a grand so no JOHN WAYNES!

    MINE ARE OAK 38MM
    LENGTH IS 3.5 X 610MM
    THE OTHER IS 1400MM WIDE 2.5M LENGTH CURVED SHAPE

    if theyre oak, have they got a square edge or profiled? also where you wearing a hi-viz vest when you bought them?

    If they're solid oak, then personally I'd butt-joint them rather than do a butt & scribe/mason's mitre.

    I think it looks better. will be very straightforward, assuming they're square edged. If there's a small pencil round, you could probably afford to lose 2/3mm off the front edge, particularly on the 1400 wide piece, so cut it square & then join.

    not sure about the hi viz joke?????????? but if you have 2 worktops together making a 90 degree angle what cut is best also suare edged or profile i"m not doing it?

    are the edges of the worktops square or postformed like a laminate top would be?

    then you do NOT need them mitred! just butt jointed ;)
